Mazza, Salt Lake City, UT

Mazza is not a vegan or vegetarian restaurant. It is a Middle Eastern Cuisine restaurant with many vegan options clearly labeled on the menu. The appetizers are great, my favorites being Muhamara, Hummus, and Ful Mudammas. Sometimes the pita is good, sometimes it isn't, you just have to ask for some new pita if what you get isn't great. The appetizers range from $5-7, but you can get a sampler of 3 for $10 or a sampler of 4 for $13. For sandwiches they offer the standard Falafel $6.50, and they also have some vegan kababs $5 each, or a platter for $15. My other favorite to get here is the lentil soup, $6. The menus online do not mark the vegan options, but the menus in the restaurant clearly mark the options that are vegan. There are 2 locations, the original is 1515 South 1500 East, Salt Lake City UT 84105 801/484-9259 Mon-Sat 11am-10pm, and the newer location 912 East 900 South, Salt Lake City UT 84105 801/521-4572 Mon-Sat 11am-3pm and 5pm-10pm. http://www.mazzacafe.com/ There is only street parking available for both locations.
